Belarus, Moldova to expand cooperation in making wines, tractors, trolleybuses

CHISINAU, 23 December (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in continuing cooperation with Moldova in making wines, tractors, and trolleybuses. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy made the relevant statement as he met with Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip in Chisinau, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Rusy said: “Belarus is interested in continuing working together with Moldova in making wines, tractors, and trolleybuses. Belarus is also in favor of arranging sessions of the Belarusian-Moldovan commission on trade and economic cooperation twice a year for the sake of discussing and promptly implementing all the measures that can benefit citizens of both countries.”

According to the press service of the Moldovan government, Pavel Filip backed the idea of arranging sessions of the Belarusian-Moldovan commission on trade and economic cooperation more frequently. The Moldovan Prime Minister remarked that the list of joint projects is impressive and indicates the great potential for advancing Belarus-Moldova cooperation in economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields.

Pavel Filip also noted the dynamic nature of Belarus-Moldova relations. He recalled the constructive discussions in the course of the visit of Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov to Moldova as well as the very good dialogue he had with President Alexander Lukashenko during a CIS summit in Bishkek.

The Prime Minister of Moldova said that these discussions had produced concrete results, including the establishment of joint working groups on cooperation in such areas as seed farming, medications, agriculture, and mineral fertilizers.

Belarus is one of the eight top trade partners of Moldova. In 2015 Belarus-Moldova trade totaled $215.7 million.
