MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – A delegation of Belarusian companies has visited the Republic of Mali to advance trade and economic cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry.
The delegation featured representatives of MTZ, MAZ, BelAZ, and Minsk Electrotechnical Plant. These companies represent the core sectors of Belarusian mechanical engineering – production of agricultural machinery and quarry trucks, automotive industry and electrical engineering.
During the visit, the delegation held a series of meetings with Malian government officials and business leaders. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, a meeting with Minister Abdoulaye Diop focused on strengthening economic ties and broadening industrial partnerships.
Minister Moussa Alassane Diallo received the delegation at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Their talks centered on prospects for industrial cooperation, the supply of construction and road equipment, and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
In a meeting with Minister of Agriculture Daniel Siméon Kelema, the parties discussed agricultural mechanization, the supply of MTZ machinery, the establishment of service centers, and specialist training.
Furthermore, the Belarusian delegation met with the management of the state-owned mineral resources company, SOREM. They explored the potential for supplying BelAZ quarry equipment for Mali’s mining industry.
The press service noted that in recent years, Sahel region nations – Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger – have demonstrated steady economic growth and a growing interest in industrial and technological cooperation. Belarus offers comprehensive solutions, including equipment supply, the creation of assembly factories and service centers, and personnel training programs. The visit aims to strengthen economic ties and diversify export markets, with the Republic of Mali viewed as a promising partner for Belarus in West Africa.
The Belarusian delegation will continue its regional tour with visits to Burkina Faso and Niger, where it will hold similar talks with government officials and business executives.
