Belarus launches sale of foreign currency government bonds

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian Finance Ministry has begun the placement of the 11th and 12th issues of U.S. dollar-denominated bearer government bonds for individuals, BelTA learned from the ministry.

The placement period runs until 10 September 2027, with an interest rate of 2.7% per annum. The bonds have a two-year maturity, with redemption starting on 10 September 2028. The face value of an 11th issue bond is $1,000, and a 12th issue bond is $5,000. The bonds are available for purchase by both Belarusian residents and non-residents.

The Finance Ministry noted that investors will not be able to redeem the government bonds prior to maturity.
