Belarus, Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar Oblast to set up joint ventures

MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar Oblast intend to set up joint ventures. The relevant provisions are stipulated by the memorandum of understanding and cooperation in trade and economic affairs between the Embassy of Belarus and Kazakhstan and the Pavlodar Oblast administration. The document was signed during the working trip of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Anatoly Nichkasov, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The memorandum provides for setting up joint ventures and industrial groups, for enabling favorable conditions to promote joint operations of economic entities, said the press service. The document was signed after Pavlodar Oblast Governor Kanat Bozumbayev met with the Belarusian ambassador. During the meeting the sides discussed topical matters concerning the state of trade and economic relations between Belarus and Pavlodar Oblast. Belarus’ export capabilities were presented as well. For the sake of stepping up trade and economic cooperation the sides agreed that a delegation of the business circles of Belarus’ Slutsk District will visit Pavlodar by the end of the year.

While in Pavlodar Oblast on 28-29 August the Ambassador of Belarus also met with representatives of government agencies, business circles, researchers, cultural figures, and representatives of the Belarusian diaspora.

Apart from that, the Ambassador of Belarus took part in the roundtable session on the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan's contribution to peace and friendship between nations in Kazakhstan. The Belarusian diplomat made a speech. Among other things he mentioned the importance of the Assembly as a unique public institution that unites nations of Kazakhstan and preserves their cultural diversity.

The Ambassador also met with Lyubov Bogdan, chairwoman of the public association Cultural Center Belarus in Pavlodar, to present a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for her contribution to Belarus’ positive image in Kazakhstan and to stronger peace and friendship between the nations.
