MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) - Belarus values the relations it has built with Kazakhstan, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said as he met with Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliyev, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Turchin noted that the agreement to hold the meeting was reached during the recent visit of the Belarusian governmental delegation to Kazakhstan.
“Our relations with Kazakhstan have a special status. We highly value the relations that have developed between us, thanks to the leaders of our two states. All issues are under special supervision by the government,” Aleksandr Turchin said. “We are ready to discuss existing problematic topics and make appropriate decisions on them.”

According to Arman Shakkaliyev, the Kazakh delegation is happy to be in Minsk, following up on the earlier agreements. “We have come to propose specific measures aimed at increasing and expanding our trade and economic cooperation. Based on the results for the first nine months, we see a trade growth of approximately 20%. Nevertheless, we understand that the potential is significant. The objective for trade is to reach the $1 billion mark in the near future, with a subsequent doubling at the very least. We have prepared specific proposals and measures, including on sensitive issues,” said Arman Shakkaliyev.
