ASTANA, 5 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan have outlined a number of new joint projects, including in water purification and urban improvement, Vitabsk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Subbotin told journalists, BelTA has learned.
“Our mutual trade is growing, with exports of various goods from Belarus. These include petroleum products, foodstuffs, furniture, automotive components, and more. We are also taking joint steps in areas such as cultural projects, scientific research, and industrial cooperation. Vitebsk Oblast will play a significant role in providing components. The opportunities for cooperation in these areas are promising, and we are doing our utmost,” the governor said.
In his view, the foundation of successful cooperation with Kazakhstan lies in a shared mentality. “This encourages us to build friendships and carry out joint projects. Just yesterday we did not know what new projects might emerge following this visit. But today our team has already agreed on major projects, including from water purification equipment to urban improvement,” Aleksandr Subbotin emphasized.

A memorandum on trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation was signed between the Akimat of Almaty Region and the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee on 5 November. In addition, a roadmap on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation for 2026-2028 was signed between the Minsk City Executive Committee and the Akimat of Astana.
Another signed document is a roadmap for the development of industrial cooperation between the Belarusian Industry Ministry and Kazakhstan’s Industry and Construction Ministry for 2026-2028.
