Belarus invites Kazakhstan to cooperate in IT, financial technology

MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko invited Kazakhstan to cooperate in IT, co-implement cutting-edge manufacturing and financial technologies and instruments during the talks with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev on 29 November, BelTA has learned.

“The economic competitiveness depends on the prompt introduction of cutting-edge manufacturing and financial technologies and instruments. The international financial center Astana is being constructed in Kazakhstan. It will become a regional financial cluster. In turn, the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone should become the innovative ‘city of the future’ aimed at high-technology export. Both facilities are located on the Great Silk Road. Mutual participation in these projects will speed up and strengthen the integration of our countries into the global economy,” the president noted.

In his words, the international financial center Astana and Belarus’ Hi-Tech Park should start introducing cutting-edge developments. “We have discussed this matter with the president and welcomed the proposal of the governments to expand the contacts between the financial center and the Hi-Tech Park. We are ready to exchange the technologies that Belarus has,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

The head of state underlined that the world is moving towards digital future. “We have some things to offer to our Kazakh brothers. Thanks to our software developers, Belarus has made a leap forward in IT and has gone international within a short period of time. Kazakhstan’s representatives have already been to the Hi-Tech Park and learned more about the Belarusian software,” he added.
