MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian Industry Ministry is working on equipment supplies and the establishment of assembly facilities in Indonesia, Belarus’ Deputy Industry Minister Leonid Ryzhkovsky told journalists on the sidelines of the 8th meeting of the Belarusian-Indonesian joint commission on trade, economic and technical cooperation in Minsk on 15 May, BelTA has learned.
“We are pursuing three lines of work: supplying our agricultural, freight, and passenger vehicles, as well as tapping into the mining dump truck market. These were the key topics raised [during the Indonesian delegation’s visit to Belarus],” noted Leonid Ryzhkovsky.
The deputy minister noted that microelectronics is another field that has drawn the partners’ attention. Belarus is prepared to engage in detailed discussions on supplies.
When it comes to mining dump trucks, 80 BelAZ vehicles are already at work in Indonesia, and the scope for further cooperation is considerable. Indonesia’s mining sector is growing, driven by substantial coal exports.
Belarusian manufacturers also have experience in the agricultural machinery sector in the region. “We made it clear that we are ready to produce equipment for any climate. Delivery timelines and interest in assembly production are what matter most. We are prepared to deepen and expand our cooperation and to share our know-how accordingly,” Leonid Ryzhkovsky said.
Supply volumes for this year are still being finalized, as are the arrangements for setting up assembly facilities. Cooperation with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is already underway. “We have submitted our proposals. These issues are now being reviewed by the Indonesian side,” the deputy minister added.
The Indonesian delegation, led by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, toured Minsk Tractor Works, MAZ, and other enterprises yesterday as part of their visit to Belarus. The guests were shown the capabilities of the equipment, including models equipped with the necessary trailed and mounted attachments.
