Belarus’ harvest exceeds 7.3m tonnes of grain, rapeseed

MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) - Over 7.3 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 15 August, 7.349 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes more than 6.288 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops (91% of the area under these crops, with yields at 33.3 centners per hectare) and 1.061 million tonnes of rapeseed (90.4% of the area, with yields at 29.4 centners per hectare).

The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast harvested 1.955 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Grodno Oblast – 1.704 million tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1.554 million tonnes, Mogilev Oblast – 821,000 tonnes, Gomel Oblast – 720,100 tonnes and Vitebsk Oblast – 595,300 tonnes.

Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 43,100 hectares, which is 96.5% of the area under this crop.
