Belarus’ grain harvest reaches 8.4m tonnes

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Belarusian farmers have threshed 8.4 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 21 August 2026, grain harvest including rapeseed amounted to 8.452 million tonnes. The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast – 2,259,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast – 1,729,000 tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1,637,000 tonnes, Gomel Oblast – 1,047,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast – 1,006,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast – 774,000 tonnes.

Grain and leguminous crops (including rapeseed, without corn) have been harvested from 2,291,000 hectares or 93% of the areas (2,432,000 hectares in total).

Flax has been pulled across the area of 44,000 hectares, or 100% of the target.

Deliveries under the state procurement order include: 530,000 tonnes of food grain (80% of the target); 106,000 tonnes of rapeseed (106% of the 100,000-tonne target); and 77,000 tonnes of malting barley (89% of the 86,000-tonne target).

Second cut was harvested across an area of 846,000 hectares or 84% of the plan.

Hay production has reached 530,000 tonnes or 74% of the plan. Silage harvest progress stands at 526,000 tonnes (2%). Forage grasses total 3,700,000 tonnes or 36% of the target. Haylage production has reached 11,715,000 tonnes, or 82% of the target.

Fertilizer stocks (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) for winter planting have been procured at 141% (243,000 tonnes) of the planned requirement.
