MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – In January-August 2025, Belarus’ exports of goods and services totaled $32.8 billion, a $300 million increase year-on-year, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Economy told BelTA.
The key growth driver was the services industry, which saw a rise of about $1 billion, primarily due to the transport and construction sectors.
Merchandise exports have fallen by 2.5% compared to the previous year, driven by lower shipment volumes amid higher average export prices.
“Belarus continues to strengthen its position on geographically remote markets. Products under the ‘Made in Belarus’ brand are increasingly gaining consumer trust in Latin America, Africa, Southeast and Central Asia. Supplies to these regions are gaining steady momentum: exports to Latin America went up 1.5 times, and to Asian countries – 1.3 times. Trade with Africa has been growing at a high pace for a second consecutive year,” the Ministry of Economy noted.
Import growth is slowing gradually, helping to improve the foreign trade balance. The trade deficit shrank by $200 million in August alone.
