Belarus expects to receive Chinese credit rating by end of summer

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) - Belarus expects to get a Chinese credit rating before the end of the summer, Belarus’ Finance Minister Vladimir Amarin told the media in Mink on 27 June, BelTA has learned.

Belarus’ Finance Ministry and China Chengxin International Credit Rating Co. Ltd. (CCXI) signed an agreement to assign a credit rating to Belarus in June. Thus, Belarus will able to float its bonds in the financial market of China. “We hope that the rating will be assigned somewhere by the end of summer,” Vladimir Amarin noted.

In accordance with the agreement, CCXI will conduct an evaluation of Belarus. Representatives of the Chinese rating agency are set to visit Belarus in July. “The rating will be assigned after that. The procedure for obtaining a permission from the regulator will be launched afterwards,” Vladimir Amarin said. Belarus is set to float government bonds in the Chinese financial market at the end of the year or early 2019.
