Belarus, Dominican Republic discuss promising areas of cooperation

MOSCOW, 14 October (BelTA) - Belarus' Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik held a meeting with Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Russian Federation and concurrently to the Republic of Belarus Alejandro Arias Zarzuela, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

“Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik outlined the areas of cooperation between the two countries that hold promise: the supply of Belarusian agricultural and passenger vehicles, and also food products, fertilizers, and medicines to the Dominican market,” the press service reported.

Ambassador Alejandro Arias Zarzuela emphasized the importance of cooperation through organizations that promote foreign trade and proposed holding online negotiations between such entities of Belarus and the Dominican Republic. The Dominican diplomat named the tourism sector as another important area that could become a growth point in bilateral relations.

“As part of the discussion on the legal framework of the bilateral cooperation, the heads of the diplomatic missions aligned their positions regarding the parties' consideration of draft bilateral documents, in particular, an agreement on mutual abolition of visas and memorandums in trade and education,” the embassy added.
