MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Belarus and China have declared 2026 and 2027 Years of Industrial Cooperation, the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry told BelTA.

The relevant joint statement was signed by the Belarusian and Chinese industry ministers in Beijing. It represented a symbolic start of various events and projects.

Belarusian Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov said he was confident that the years 2026-2027 would be breakthrough years for further reinforcement of manufacturing cooperation in all spheres.

“For Belarusian industrial enterprises the manufacturing cooperation years of 2026-2027 will allow significantly increasing the level of cooperation with Chinese manufacturers. Focus will be made not only on getting Chinese equipment but on the genuine mastery of technologies and competences. It will allow transitioning to deep industrial integration, as part of which the modernization of Belarusian enterprises will proceed in parallel with the establishment of new joint manufacturing facilities,” Andrei Kuznetsov said.

The first session of the industrial cooperation commission of the Belarus-China intergovernmental committee on cooperation took place in Beijing on 18 November. The session was chaired by Belarusian Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov and Chinese Industry and Information Technology Minister Li Lecheng. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Aleksandr Chervyakov took part in the session.

The Belarus-China industrial cooperation commission offers a new institutional mechanism of interaction, which is designed to elevate industrial partnership of the two countries to a brand new level by coordinating large-scale projects and removing barriers standing in the way of their realization.

In January-September 2025 Belarus-China trade in industrial goods rose by 2.2 times in comparison with the same period of last year. The first session of the commission on industrial cooperation is supposed to become the foundation of further mutually beneficial cooperation, a demonstration of the readiness of the domain-specific ministries of the two countries to provide all kinds of support to Belarusian companies and Chinese ones.

Step by step Belarus and China create the institutional conditions for deepening and expanding industrial cooperation. In March 2023 a complex strategy of joint industrial development was signed to determine priority avenues of cooperation.

November 2023 saw a detailed plan signed. It includes about 30 projects, which should be considered and implemented with assistance of Chinese competences and technologies. The commission on industrial cooperation represents a new stage of the interaction.
