Belarus, China mull over joint trading cooperation center in Minsk

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Chinese trading cooperation center will be set up in Minsk, the press service of the Trade Ministry of Belarus told BelTA following the meeting of Trade Minister Valentin Chekanov with Governor of Gansu Province Liu Weiping.

“It is expected that the center will open before 1 January 2016,” the press service said.

The agreement on the center was signed between the Belarusian wholesale group Belresursy and Wuwei Quansheng Corporation. Under the document, the founders of the center shall make contributions to its authorized fund in the Belarusian national currency at the amount of $500,000 each at the exchange rate of the National Bank within two months after its official registration.

According to the press service, the parties discussed the main areas of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. They also talked over joint production of tractors and fodder harvesters in Gansu Province. “The Chinese side expressed keen interest in Belarus’ logistics, hotel business, agriculture, dairy and meat processing industry,” representatives of the Trade Ministry of Belarus said.

A number of other agreements have been concluded during the current visit of the Chinese delegation to Belarus. In particular, the sides signed contracts and agreements between the free economic zone Grodnoinvest and the Commerce Department of Gansu Province, between the Grodno city administration and the Chinese corporation Wuwei Quansheng.
