Belarus, Australia set to bolster trade, economic cooperation

MOSCOW, 27 June (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Russia with concurrent accreditation to Belarus Peter Martin Tesch in Moscow on 27 June, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

“The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations. Special attention was paid to the strengthening of trade and economic cooperation, expansion of the practice of high-level visits, and development of cooperation between ministries of foreign affairs with a view to intensifying the political dialogue,” the press service specified.

The diplomatic relations between Belarus and Australia were established on 9 January 1992. In 2015, the trade between the two countries totaled $11.4 million.
