Azerbaijan president attends Belarus exposition at ADEX 2018 expo in Baku

MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) - Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev got familiar with the latest technology of the Belarusian military-industrial enterprises at the 3rd International Defense Industry Exhibition ADEX 2018 in Baku, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee.

On the opening day of the exhibition, 25 September, the Belarusian exposition was visited by Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev. “He got familiar with the exposition and talked with head of the Belarusian delegation, Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee Roman Golovchenko who informed the Azerbaijani leader on the capacity and prospects of the Belarusian defense industry,” the press service said.

The Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee also held a meeting with Azerbaijan Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov. “The parties discussed various issues of bilateral military-technical cooperation," the press service noted.

Taking part in ADEX 2018, which is to run through 27 September, are 224 companies from almost 30 countries. More than 40 official delegations have visited the exhibition so far. The largest national expositions have been organized by Turkey, Russia, Israel and Belarus.

Belarus is represented at the expo by ten military-industrial enterprises, including KB Radar, the managing company of the Radar Systems Holding Company, AGAT Management Systems, the managing company of the Geoinformation Management Systems Holding Company, the 140th Repair Plant, the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant, and the 2566th Radioelectronic Armament Repair Plant. Independent expositions have been put on display by OKB TSP, BelOMO and Defense Initiatives. Belspetsvneshtechnika is a collective organizer of the Belarusian joint stand.

The Belarusian exposition featured a wide range of new and promising products developed with the help of modern innovative technologies. These are large-scale prototypes of robotic ground-based and airborne equipment, fire systems, combat geoinformation systems, including mobile radio communications, optical and optoelectronic instrumentation products, mobility means, innovations in the field of radar systems and electronic warfare means, airborne complexes of defense and individual protection of mobile and area facilities, and also the capabilities of enterprises to produce, modernize, repair and maintain weapons and military equipment.
