MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – The African market is of great promise for Belarus, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas told journalists ahead of the business seminar Africa. Export Prospects organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) on 27 March, BelTA has learned.

“Trade is the first level of cooperation, which will make part of our interaction with Africa. But as for Africa and other regions, we are primarily talking about some more advanced forms of cooperation, namely the establishment of joint ventures,” Andrei Dapkiunas remarked.

He underlined that the business seminar arranged by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is meant to promote Belarusian manufacturers in Africa. “At this seminar, practical recommendations will be brought forward to establish contacts with people who know how to trade in Africa,” the deputy minister said. Ambassadors of several African states with concurrent accreditation in Belarus had come from Moscow, he underlined. “Their recommendations can make our work in Africa even more effective,” Andrei Dapkiunas believes.

In his words, the African market is challenging but promising. “This is the market of the future. We need to study and understand it. The fact that the BCCI brings together all the partners in this effort is very important. I hope that new ideas and new projects will emerge. The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to provide assistance by all means,” he added.

The business seminar Africa. Export Prospects is taking place at the BCCI Business Education Center. The participants are provided with the necessary information on how to branch out into the markets of Africa and promote Belarusian goods and services, including the aspects of operation in African countries.

The participants will also have an opportunity to learn more about the mechanisms of government support for domestic exports and consider practical matters related with exports to Africa during panel discussions with representatives of diplomatic missions and consulates of African countries in Belarus, and Belarusian companies selling products into Africa.
