Dairy brands

Belarus is one of the world’s biggest exporters of dairy products.

Belarus’ dairy holding companies and plants make a wide range of products: milk of different types, butter, sour cream, kefir and other fermented milk drinks, farmer cheese, yogurts and desserts, ice cream, cheeses of traditional and elite varieties. The list of legendary brands also includes Belarusian condensed milk from Rogachev and Glubokoye.

The dairy production process meets the sanitary, hygienic and thermal standards. The dairy companies of Belarus have actively supported the idea of developing industrial tourism. Among them are well-known brands Babushkina Krynka, Savushkin Product… As a rule, the companies welcome tourist groups. The most convenient way to visit a dairy in Belarus is to book a tour with a travel agency.

Some new companies have glass galleries for tourists offering a great view of the production process.

Turov Dairy Plant

A successful modern trademark has been developed in the ancient town of Turov in the Belarusian Polesie by a company making soft and semi-soft cheese from Belarusian milk using Italian technologies. The plant invites tourists to visit its facilities, participate in a cheese tasting, and enjoy a meal at the company’s cafe.

Grodno-based company Molochny Mir

The company invites tourists to get familiar with the process of making curd cheese, from milk to finished products. The upstairs gallery offers a great view of the production facilities. Tourists are invited to ask questions and taste the products. Tours are available by appointment.

Craft cheese from Slavgorod

Cheese enthusiasts interested in production technologies and exclusive interpretations of cheesemaking recipes, are invited to visit the center of Belarusian home cheesemaking, the town of Slavgorod in Mogilev Oblast.

Local farmers and artisans make dozens of cheese varieties to suit every taste: hard and soft, processed and curd cheese, sweet, salty and smoked cheese, cheese with herbs, spices and organic additives (caraway seeds, flax seeds, honey, and many other unusual ingredients). The artisans share their secrets in the Cheese Store where everyone can taste all the unusual varieties and novelties. In April, Slavgorod hosts the food festival Haspadarchy Syr.
