2018 to be announced Year of Belarus’ Tourism in China

SOCHI, 1 December (BelTA) – 2018 will be declared the Year of Belarus’ Tourism in China, Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said at the meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang on 1 December, BelTA has learned.

Andrei Kobyakov suggested announcing 2018 the Year of Belarus’ Tourism in China. Today, Belarus develops a comprehensive tourism concept not just as an industry, but as one of the drivers of the national economy. The key catalyst for world tourism is China, and Belarus has something to offer Chinese tourists.

The meeting also discussed financial and credit cooperation, the implementation of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone project. Andrei Kobyakov said that the development of necessary infrastructure for the park continues.

The Belarusian premier reiterated Belarus’ readiness to continue the implementation of projects on the organization of recreation and health improvement holidays for Chinese children.

Li Keqiang supported the proposal to declare 2018 the Year of Belarus’ Tourism in China. In his words, all Belarus’ initiatives are carefully considered in China. As for the Great Stone park development, China aims for the implementation of concrete mutually beneficial projects.

The premier of China’s State Council expressed gratitude to the president of Belarus for the proposal of organizing recuperation holidays for Chinese children.

Andrei Kobyakov is on a working visit to Sochi from 30 November to 1 December. The Belarusian premier is expected to take part in the meeting of the Heads of Government Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. On the sidelines of the summit the prime minister is holding a number of bilateral meetings with foreign partners.
