MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Piotr Miklashevich chairman of the Constitutional Court of Belarus with the subsequent agreement of the appointment with the Council of the Republic. The head of state has signed a corresponding decree, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
In accordance with the legislation, the chairperson of the Constitutional Court of Belarus shall be appointed by the president with the consent of the Council of the Republic from the judges of the Constitutional Court for the period of five years.
