MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei will meet with Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Jose Graziano da Silva in Minsk on 26 June, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told reporters on 25 June, BelTA has learned.
“The talks will focus on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation and the interaction of Belarus and FAO on topical issues of the international agenda. The sides will discuss technical cooperation in line with the country program between FAO and Belarus for 2014-2016, the interaction of Belarus and FAO in the implementation of the future development agenda of the UN for the period after 2015, the mitigation of Chernobyl accident consequences, climate change and other fields,” Dmitry Mironchik said.
The talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take place as part of the visit of the FAO Director General to Belarus. He will also meet with the representatives of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, other government bodies cooperating with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Jose Graziano da Silva is expected to visit Minsk Tractor Works, R&D centers of animal husbandry and arable farming of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
