MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko believes that the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union are well-positioned to establish closer ties. The statement was made by Alexander Lukashenko in his address to the nation and the parliament on 29 April, BelTA has learned.
“Despite the ongoing escalation of the geopolitical situation, I believe that our idea of the integration of integrations is still relevant and promising. We will eventually succeed in bridging the gap between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union and in establishing Big Europe from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. Belarus’ presidency in the EEU will contribute to the materialization of this idea,” the Belarusian head of state said.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that the establishment of an organization promoting full-fledged regional economic integration and having international legal capacity can help advance cooperation with the global economic associations to a brand new level. “Our common task is to prevent new dividing lines in Europe and to use the potential of constructive cooperation in the interests of our peoples,” he added.
