MINSK, 21 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah have exchanged congratulatory messages as the two countries are marking 25 years of diplomatic relations, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian ministry of foreign affairs.
According to Vladimir Makei, over the past 25 years the two states have managed to develop a robust basis for friendly and mutually beneficial relations. A successful visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Oman in 2007 confirmed the interest of the leadership of the two countries in the further development of bilateral relations.
“A significant intensification of contacts within the past two years, an exchange of visits between government, business and parliamentary delegations open wide prospects for the Belarusian-Omani cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian areas,” the message of greetings runs.
The minister expressed hope that Belarus-suggested plan of priority steps to develop cooperation between the two states would be an efficient instrument in the implementation of the earlier reached agreements.
