BEIJING, 15 May (BelTA) – The Chinese corporation CITIC Group will invest about $1.5 billion in implementing new projects in Belarus, BelTA learned from CITIC Group Vice Chairman and President Wang Jiong after negotiations between CITIC Group’s representatives and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 15 May.
Wang Jiong said: “Our primary goal is to finish implementing current projects in Belarus. It’s been a year since my last visit to your country. We see opportunities for launching new business ideas. We have already agreed to set up an enterprise to make special robots in Belarus. We are also starting implementing projects in agribusiness, agriculture, and petrochemical industry in Belarus. The volume of investments will be close to $1.5 billion.”
Wang Jiong noted that Belarus had enabled a very good business climate for the Chinese corporation. CITIC Group is confident that mutually beneficial cooperation will succeed. “Besides, the Belarus president provides all kinds of support for implementing projects in various spheres. We are absolutely confident in future accomplishments,” he stressed.
