Zyuganov praises Belarus for building on Soviet legacy and doubling its strength

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) - Belarus has taken the best from the Soviet era and doubled its potential, Gennady Zyuganov, the Chairman of the CPRF Central Committee, the leader of the CPRF faction in the Russian State Duma, said during a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko at the Palace of Independence in Minsk on 10 August, BelTA has learned.

“You [in Belarus] have doubled your Soviet potential. Building on the best of the Soviet era, you have added and built upon it, discarding nothing while moving forward. That does you credit,” Gennady Zyuganov emphasized addressing the Belarusian head of state.

Gennady Zyuganov noted that he has visited many countries and has something to compare Belarus’ achievements with, which, in his words, are recognized even by unfriendly states. Belarus’ experience is in great demand, Gennady Zyuganov stressed. This is particularly true in the areas of patriotic youth education and the development of the machine-building sector.

During the meeting, the leader of the CPRF presented the Belarusian head of state with a special diploma and the honorary badge of the laureate of the Lenin Prize of the CPRF Central Committee.
