Tozik: Belarus-Venezuela projects in oil extraction, petrochemistry are a success

MINSK, 9 July (BelTA) – Belarus and Venezuela successfully implement large-scale projects in oil production and petrochemistry, Vice Premier Anatoly Tozik said at a meeting dedicated to the Independence Day of Venezuela, BelTA has learned.

The Vice Premier stressed that the two countries implement large-scale projects in seismic exploration, the manufacturing industry, housing construction, gasification, agriculture and food production. The countries joined efforts to complete the construction of the largest plant producing ceramic bricks in the state of Miranda. They also build plants to assemble tractors, freight vehicles and road construction equipment in the state of Barinas. Apart from that, Belarus and Venezuela have launched the project to build a facility to recycle accumulator batteries.

Anatoly Tozik remarked that Belarusian specialists participate in housing construction projects in Venezuela. Belarusian builders have already helped build 5,000 apartments.

In 2013 the joint enterprise Petrolera BeloVenezolana produced over 1 million cubic meters of oil and 212 million cubic meters of natural gas. The seismic exploration company Sismica BeloVenezolana is efficient. Apart from that, the project to extract phosphate rock at the Navai deposit is a success. Anatoly Tozik also said that the countries succeed in the gasification of Venezuelan towns. The Belarusian-Venezuelan company has already gasified over 2,500 houses.

Anatoly Tozik praised the positive dynamics of bilateral scientific and technical cooperation. In his opinion, the Belarus-Venezuela intergovernmental commission for scientific and technical ties is an important coordinating body in this field.

The Vice Premier reminded about the first official visit of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to Belarus. The top-level negotiations confirmed the countries’ eagerness to strengthen the strategic alliance between the two states.
