Sun Dongsheng: Belarus viewed as reliable partner of China’s Heilongjiang Province

MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) - Belarus is becoming an important partner of the Chinese Province of Heilongjiang in the world market development, Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province Sun Dongsheng said at the opening ceremony of China’s (Heilongjiang) trade show in Minsk, BelTA learned.

“Despite the fact that China and Belarus are geographically far apart, the friendship between the peoples has a long history. Our relations have grown stronger in recent years, and this stimulates trade and economic cooperation," Sun Dongsheng said. He pointed out that Heilongjiang and Belarus enjoy friendly relations. "I must say that our Belarusian partners have made significant contribution to the development of the province. Today Belarus is an important partner of the province in the world market development,” he said.

China’s (Heilongjiang) trade show in MinskSun Dongsheng said that thanks to the joint efforts Belarus and China have bolstered ties in various fields and areas; the scale of cooperation is constantly expanding, and the level is rising. Advantages and potential of the two countries stimulate their effective interaction, he said.

The proposal to hold an exhibition of goods and projects of the Chinese province in Belarus in 2013 was made by the Chinese side in June 2012 at a meeting between First Vice Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko and Governor of Heilongjiang Province Wang Xiankui. “This exhibition has opened a new page in the bilateral cooperation in the field of exhibition activities. In addition, it will be a platform for negotiations between representatives of the business communities of the two countries. Chinese businessmen are ready to discuss cooperation with Belarusian companies in such areas as agriculture, science and technology, construction, tourism,” said Sun Dongsheng.

The first Chinese (Heilongjiang) trade show in Minsk will be running until 11 October. The exposition at the Belexpo pavilion will feature еру projects and exhibits of more than 80 Chinese companies operating in sectors such as energy, engineering, construction, agriculture, light industry and pharmaceutics. The event has been organized with the assistance of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
