Putin to Lukashenko: New issues crop up all the time and need to be addressed

MOSCOW, 29 August (BelTA) – Due to the dynamics of Belarusian-Russian relations new issues crop up all the time and need to be agreed and adjusted. President of Russia Vladimir Putin made the statement during negotiations with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 29 August, BelTA has learned.

The Russian president extended a warm welcome to his Belarusian counterpart: “I am very glad to meet with you.”

“It may seem that we met not so long ago but as I always say in such cases, due to the dynamics of our relations new issues keep emerging and require our attention, agreement, and approval,” the Russian head of state said.

Vladimir Putin remarked that Aleksandr Lukashenko had negotiated with the Russian head of government the day before. “During our discussion today we will sum up certain results. If something has to be added or adjusted, we will do just that,” he said.

Apart from that, the agenda of the negotiations of the leaders of the two countries includes international cooperation, matters concerning the reinforcement of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia and Belarus work together on international platforms, including the United Nations Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and other ones. “Certainly, we will pay attention to all of it today,” he pointed out.
