Putin hails Slavianski Bazaar as major cultural event for Eurasia

VITEBSK, 16 July (BelTA) – The festival, which takes place every year on the hospitable Belarusian soil, is a a significant cultural event not only for the multinational Slavic world but also for the entire vast Eurasian space. This message was shared in a welcome address from Russian President Vladimir Putin, read during the opening of the 35th Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk arts festival on 16 July, BelTA has learned.
The greeting message from the Russian president was read out by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksey Overchuk. “The festival, held annually on the hospitable Belarusian soil, is a significant cultural event not only for the multinational Slavic world but also for the entire vast Eurasian space. Its motto, ‘Through art to peace and mutual understanding,’ is more relevant than ever in today’s highly complex international reality and undoubtedly finds a vivid response in the hearts of people from different countries,” the Russian leader noted.
The message notes that the Slavianski Bazaar program is, as always, highly rich and diverse. “Vitebsk residents and guests of this ancient and beautiful city will be able to attend concerts of classical, contemporary, and folk music, theater premieres, vocal competitions, as well as various exhibitions and presentations. As is tradition, particular attention will be paid to the young audience. A number of the festival events are held under the auspices of the Union State – to mark the 30th anniversary of the launch of integration processes between Russia and Belarus,” the message reads.
Vladimir Putin thanked the organizers of Slavianski Bazaar for their high-quality work and wished all festival participants inspiration and creative success, and the guests vivid, unforgettable impressions.
