Piotr Rudnik: Year of Frugality will help accelerate modernization of enterprises

MOGILEV, 10 January (BelTA) – The Year of Frugality in Belarus will help accelerate the modernization of enterprises, it will contribute to raising salaries, Mr Piotr Rudnik, Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, told BelTA.

In his words, in the tough conditions of market competition all enterprises and organizations intend to save resources and money. Only some executives still demonstrate some passivity that they have retained since the USSR time. “The Year of Frugality will give an impulse to continue the work that has been started in line with Directive No. 3. The Year of Frugality will allow executives to take a fresh look at labor organization, find additional reserves for austerity and economy. We often fail to see money that we just need to pick up and the money can be used to develop companies and raise salaries of workers. In this work one should follow the principle: save five rubles to get one ruble as a bonus to your salary,” believes Piotr Rudnik.

In his opinion, the Year of Frugality has been declared at a very opportune moment because Belarus has many reserves to tap into yet as far as better labor productivity and the economy of energy resources are concerned. Every enterprise and organization has things to improve. “I am convinced that among other things by fulfilling the instruction of the head of state to modernize every enterprise we will be able to save sizeable resources in the future by introducing high-performance and less energy-intensive innovative technologies into the manufacturing process. We have such modernization plans for every enterprise. Moreover, it is necessary to work out promising development plans for all the district capitals and major towns,” said the governor.

This year the work to attract investments and create at least ten small enterprises in every district will be an important goal of the oblast administration. The rise of sound competition in the regions will also help promote the careful treatment of the available resources, efforts to reduce the prime cost and to increase the competitive ability of the manufactured products. New modern enterprises should export half of the output. As an example Piotr Rudnik mentioned OAO Gazosilikat (Mogilev District), which commissioned a new Chinese line to make colored facing bricks on the New Year’s eve. The company exports 95% of the output. Thanks to the assimilation of the latest technologies it saves a lot of material and energy resources. As a result, the company’s merchandise is competitive on the home and foreign markets.
