MOSCOW, 15 October (BelTA) – The development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) should not have an adverse effect on the achievements made in the Union State, Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev said as he met with State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota on 15 October, BelTA has learned.
“We are in an active phase of the development of the Eurasian Economic Union which is an advanced form of economic integration. We need to do our best to keep the potential we have within the Union State of Russia and Belarus on one side and have those EEU modern trends developed and paid off,” the Russian PM said.
In his words, the issue to combine the two integration blocs will be discussed at the forthcoming meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers in Minsk.
“We cannot lose all those positive things we have inside the Union State as the level of political integration within the Union State is still higher than in the Eurasian Economic Union,” Dmitry Medvedev underlined.
