Lukashenko to young Belarusians: Ours is a country of opportunities

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Belarus is a country of opportunities and the young generation will have to manage the preserve the country in the future. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement in a speech during the youth forum Youth. Belarus. Future on the occasion of People’s Unity Day, BelTA has learned.

“We have a country of opportunities. Quiet, calm. Without war, thank god. You will have to preserve all of it in the future. Without making it worse. You will have to carry the heaviest burden on your shoulders. Trust me: it cannot be any heavier. You will have to bear the responsibility for this unity, for the Belarusian nation, for the land where we live a calm life today,” the head of state said.

“Get ready to take this heavy burden and be responsible for the future of our country. You will have kids and grandkids and just like I do, you will say that everything around us belongs not only and not as much to us as it belongs to them,” the president stressed.

Continuing the line of thought, Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed a few parting words to guests and participants of the forum, including not only young people but middle-aged Belarusians. “I ask you to never hurry. You have to do everything fast in life but never in a hurry. Think what you would have done. As I think what I would have done in 1921 when Belarus was cut into pieces. That’s my advice to you,” he concluded.
