Lukashenko suggests formula for peace in Belarus

VILEIKA, 7 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko shared the formula that will help preserve peace in Belarus as he talked with residents of Vileyka District, BelTA has learned.

The president noted that Belarusians used to be criticized quite often, with people saying: “You’re always talking about needing peace”. Such reproaches came particularly frequently from the so-called opposition. But with time, especially in recent years, it has become clear to everyone that peace is a great asset.

“Everyone dreams of peace now. It is still unknown how things will unfold. In order to have peace, I’ll give you a simple formula: we must work. We’ll harvest the grain, plow all fields, work in industry, and sell our products, and there will be peace,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said with conviction. “The moment we stop working, those who don’t work will start stealing from those who do. Fighting will break out, and we’ll end up at war.”

The president noted that the war in Ukraine began precisely with internal turmoil, theft, and corruption. “It was a wealthy country, but they were busy lining up their pockets and ended up at war," he emphasized. “We cannot allow this to happen.”
