Lukashenko, Putin speak over phone, exchange Easter greetings

 MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation on 12 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The heads of state exchanged Easter greetings, conveyed warm wishes of health and wellbeing to their families and loved ones, and offered their kindest words and wishes of peace and goodwill to the peoples of the two countries.

The presidents discussed current issues in bilateral relations and upcoming high-level contacts.

Special attention was paid to the preparation for the next Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which will take place in Minsk and Minsk Oblast in June and will focus on economic cooperation.

Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin discussed regional and international issues, as well as key items on the global agenda.

The presidents also addressed the topic of cooperation within the Belarus-Russia-North Korea triangle. Following the official visit of the president of Belarus to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, a range of promising areas for cooperation has been identified. During today’s conversation, the possibility of implementing several projects in a trilateral format was discussed.

The Belarusian head of state confirmed his participation in the upcoming Victory Day Parade in Moscow.
