MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) - Russia is facing a lot of economic challenges, which means that things will not be easy in Belarus either, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told the media in Minsk on 26 January, BelTA has learned.

“Russia is our ally, our main market and our main supplier. We are interconnected. Naturally, we depend on each other,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The president stated that the economic situation in Russia is not easy now, which means that it will not be easy in Belarus either.

“Therefore, I warn my people (the government, ministers, governors, and smanufacturer) that this year will be challenging, that we need to make the best of it, we need to mobilize,” the head of state stressed.

Belarus is working to diversify its markets. International visits of the head of state are devoted to this matter, among others. In the near future, for example, Aleksandr Lukashenko plans to visit China and the DPRK.
