Lukashenko: Belarus will remain open and transparent in its relations with USA

MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) - Belarus intends to maintain an open stance and be transparent in its relations with the United States, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he heard a report from Valentin Rybakov, Belarus's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, BelTA has learned.

The head of state emphasized that during negotiations with U.S. representatives, he had clearly and unambiguously explained Belarus’ position to the American side; what is possible and what the country will not agree to. “I laid out our position on the relations, above all with Russia, with China, and also with Iran. We touched on many topics,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. “We have never equivocated or hidden our position behind diplomatic jargon. This is precisely what works in our favor today. They, including Mr Coale, understand perfectly well what we can do and what we cannot.”

“We will stick with this approach - straightforward, open, and honest,” the president stated.
