Lukashenko: Belarus rightfully considers itself part of global majority

MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) – Belarus rightfully considers itself part of the global majority, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a ceremony to receive credentials from the ambassadors of foreign countries on 28 July, BelTA has learned.

Addressing the diplomats, the president noted that many of them represent states of the global majority, whose role in international affairs is rapidly, and, most importantly, deservedly, growing. “The countries belonging to it share similar approaches to world order, building partnerships, and resolving conflicts. They are characterized by respect for national sovereignty and rejection of pressure, diktat, and illegal sanctions. Belarus rightfully considers itself part of this global majority,” the president emphasized.

“Our story, the heroic and at the same time tragic experience of resisting numerous attempts to colonize and destroy Belarusians, has predetermined the exceptional importance of independence for us and of the right ‘to be called human beings’, as the Belarusian classic said,” the head of state said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced that the shared views of the countries of the global majority will serve as a solid foundation for the successful mission of diplomats in Belarus as well.
