Lukashenko: Belarus, Cuba will keep allied nature of dialogue for many years to come

MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) - The friendly and allied nature of the dialogue between Belarus and Cuba will be preserved for many years to come, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez in Minsk on 25 June, BelTA has learned.

The head of state emphasized strong friendly ties between the Belarusian and Cuban peoples, which are supported by excellent relations at the level of the leadership of the two countries.

“In the person of my esteemed colleague Miguel Diaz-Canel, we have found a true friend of the Belarusian people. I am sure that the friendly, allied nature of the interstate dialogue will remain for many years to come, and new generations of Belarusians and Cubans will support it and fill it with relevant content,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The previous meeting of the two presidents took place in Moscow on 9 May, during the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The parties agreed to continue contacts. This is the second official visit of Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez to Belarus.

“We will discuss with you the most important issues of Belarusian-Cuban cooperation, and the international agenda. Of course, we keep in mind that one of the goals of your visit is to participate in the Eurasian Economic Forum and the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council,” the president said.
