Kobyakov: Belarus seeks closer economic, investment cooperation with China

MINSK, 2 July (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in the development of economic, investment and cultural cooperation with China, Head of the Belarus President Administration Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with Zhou Li, Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, in Minsk on 2 July, BelTA has learned.

“The relations of the Belarusian and Chinese people are the relations of friendship and to a certain extent admiration of China’s achievements in the recent decade. We are interested in the development of our cooperation in economy and culture,” Andrei Kobyakov said.

He also believes that Belarus and China should promote political, investment and loan cooperation. “We are interested in investment cooperation, especially in mutual investments. At the same time, we would like to cooperate with the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. I think that your visit will help invigorate strategic partnership between our countries,” the Head of the Belarus President Administration emphasized.

Zhou Li said that the two countries need to share practices in personnel training. “The two sides, namely the Belarus President Administration and the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC need to enhance cooperation and exchange opinions in state administration and personnel training,” Zhou Li remarked. He invited a delegation of young specialists of the Belarus President Administration to visit China in H2 2014. China is also ready to send a delegation of young politicians to Belarus.

Zhou Li thanked the Belarus President Administration for the efforts to enhance cooperation and bilateral relations between the countries. “After the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and China we support each other, strengthen political trust. We are reliable partners,” the representative of the Chinese delegation stressed.
