MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – Belarus and India have developed warm and cordial relations, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Ashok Kumar said at the meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.
“It is a great honor to be here today. I fully agree that our relations have a long history and are characterized by their warmth and cordiality,” the diplomat stated, addressing the Belarusian head of state. During the meeting, Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized the extensive legacy of bilateral cooperation, dating back to the Soviet era. The president affirmed that this foundation should serve as a springboard for intensifying trade and economic ties.

Ambassador Ashok Kumar recalled the recent participation of Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India Sibi George in the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security. During his visit, Mr. George held a series of meetings at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including talks with Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, and conducted bilateral political consultations. The parties took stock of their collaborative results and defined a path forward to broaden their partnership.
Citing Sibi George’s plenary speech at the Minsk conference, the Ambassador outlined his country’s vision for the global world order. He stated that international relations should be modeled on the analogy of a large family. “This is the ancient wisdom, and we must act on it and live in this way together,” the diplomat concluded.
