In particular, Ambassador of Greece Danae-Magdalini Kumanaku congratulated the Belarusian President and said that the ice hockey world championship plays an important role for Belarus.
“You are right. Hosting it is a very responsible and serious task. It was important for us that people who had never been to Belarus, active people, ice hockey fans would come here and see the country with their own eyes. A lot of bad things have been written about us. Therefore, I wanted to do everything to help you (foreigners – BelTA’s note) get an objective picture of Belarus,” the Belarusian leader noted. “Greek people are close to us, we have always cooperated with Greece,” he added.
