MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – The economies of Belarus and Ecuador might be complementary, Honorary Consul of Ecuador to Belarus Viktor Atroshchik told reporters at the Belarus-Ecuador Business Forum in Minsk on 13 September, BelTA has learnt.

“Belarus and Ecuador are well-positioned to expand cooperation; the two countries could complement each other. For example, Ecuador is interested in Belarus-made machines (tractors, trucks and buses) and seeks to establish direct contacts with Belarus,” Viktor Atroshchik said. Businessmen from Ecuador who came to Minsk for the forum are ready to offer their services. The Ecuadorian delegation comprises companies engaged in fishing, fish processing, flower production and sale, supplies of tropical fruit, seafood and confectionery.

According to Viktor Atroshchik, the Belarus-Ecuador Business Forum is part of the agreements reached during the official visit of the Belarusian President to Ecuador in June 2012. “The objective of the forum is to sign new contracts and agreements to be implemented later,” the Honorary Consul of Ecuador to Belarus said.
