MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – The Victory Day remains a significant and cheerful holiday, although with a tint of sadness, Honorary Consul of Belarus in Sardinia Giuseppe Carboni said at a solemn Victory Day event in Cagliari on 9 May.
Giuseppe Carboni noted that no matter how the history has changed over the past years, the day of 9 May still has great importance not only for the former USSR republics, but for the entire world.
The Russian library Native Word in Cagliari hosted the 9 May festivities that featured poems and documentary films dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
The event was organized by the Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Sardinia in cooperation with the associations Sardinia-Belarus and Sardinia-Ukraine as well as the charity association Citizens of the World.
