MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – Scientists’ constructive initiatives and breakthrough ideas will be always supported, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the Second Congress of Scientists of Belarus in Minsk on 13 December, BelTA has learned.

“Offer bold proposals, suggest breakthrough technologies! All your sensible initiatives will be supported,” the head of state said. He emphasized the importance of the meeting and invited scientists to discuss all the issues on the current agenda. The president stressed that the corresponding draft decrees, which are currently under his consideration, would be signed before the new year.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, time has shown that the decision to preserve and develop the National Academy of Sciences taken at the start of his presidency was the right one. Over the years of Belarus’ independence, the National Academy of Sciences has become a key factor in the country’s scientific development.
