WTA rankings: Sabalenka increases her lead after US Open win

MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) — Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has solidified her world number one position in the WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian goes with 11,225 points following her US Open win. US Open finalist Amanda Anisimova of the USA rose from the ninth to the fourth spot. Belarus’ Aleksandra Sasnovich is 126th, Victoria Azarenka — 133rd, and Irina Shymanovich — 172nd.

Spain's Carlos Alcaraz has claimed the top spot in the ATP men's rankings following his US Open victory. The Italian finalist he defeated, Jannik Sinner, now sits in second place, while Germany's Alexander Zverev rounds out the top three. Belarus' top-ranked player, Egor Gerasimov, is currently ranked 548th.
