VIDEOBEL.BY hailed by TV hostesses as great joint Belarusian breakthrough

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – A meet-the-artist event with the journalists and TV hostesses Tatiana Rudakovskaya and Viktoria Senkevich took place in Minsk during the celebration of the second anniversary of the multimedia portal VIDEOBEL.BY. The event took place at the Naif Arts Museum and brought together representatives of the media community and guests, who are interested in the development of domestic journalism, BelTA has learned.

The meeting became an opportunity for an open conversation about the creative path, live air broadcasts, and interaction between different generations of journalists. The hostess of Our Morning TV show Tatiana Rudakovskaya spoke about her professional development and many years of work on radio and television. Today she runs the Morning Broadcasting Directorate at the Belarusian TV channel ONT, participates in creating a cooking show and the social talk show The Day Is Young.

Deputy Chief Director of the Main Directorate of the First News TV Channel, hostess of the Main Broadcast TV show Viktoria Senkevich shared her experience of working on new television projects. In particular, she mentioned a documentary series dedicated to a trip across the United States of America. During the trip the film crew visited 16 states and traveled for about 5,500km. The films were based on the history and places of interest to the Belarusian audience.

Another topic of the meeting was the interaction of experienced journalists with young colleagues. The participants discussed how the profession is changing under the influence of modern technologies and emphasized the importance of professional ethics, competent speech, responsibility, and readiness to learn. “We can pass wisdom and experience onto young journalists while they teach us audacity,” Tatiana Rudakovskaya noted.

Attention was also paid to the nervousness that accompanies journalists during live broadcasts and major events. According to the TV hostesses, it is important to learn to see it as a natural part of the profession and get pleasure from communicating with the viewer. The meeting participants shared stories from their practice, remembered their first performances on stage, and spoke about how they coped with unexpected situations during work.

Tatiana Rudakovskaya also congratulated the multimedia portal VIDEOBEL.BY on its second anniversary and noted its popularity in the professional community. “On the whole, I am very glad that such a resource as VIDEOBEL.BY exists, and I congratulate it with all my heart on its second anniversary. A small milestone, but very important,” she added.

According to the journalist, thanks to the web portal one can quickly get basic information about events in the country and the world without having to browse a large number of sources. “Every morning for me begins with monitoring news feeds. And it is so great that now you do not need to open a huge number of resources. You open one and literally within an hour you learn the most basic, key things,” Tatiana Rudakovskaya stated.

She also emphasized the importance of direct communication with viewers, which allows one to better understand their interests and requests. “When you form an agenda, you must know the viewer’s needs. And this kind of communication allows you to hear them, see them,” the TV hostess is convinced.

In turn, Viktoria Senkevich noted that the First News TV channel and VIDEOBEL.BY are of the same age. “I am very glad to celebrate this date together. Well, of course, we need to develop our own things, including our own aerial broadcasting and our own broadcasting on other platforms. VIDEOBEL.BY is our big joint Belarusian breakthrough,” she said.

The web portal brings together content from various TV channels and sources. “It is very important to show people our beautiful things and, most importantly, to speak and show the truth,” the journalist stressed.

Speaking about the meeting itself, Viktoria Senkevich noted the special value of direct communication with the audience. In her words, journalists do not meet viewers face to face so often because they spend most of their time working in front of the camera. “I am very glad to see everyone who came, and everyone who watches us and knows us, asks us questions,” she said.

When asked what helps her stay in the profession for more than 20 years, the TV hostess mentioned love for her work as the key thing. “And people like these, who look at you with bright eyes. This is probably the most important thing,” Viktoria Senkevich summed it up.
