Victory Train project returns to Belarus

Victory Train project returns to Belarus

MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – The Victory Train interactive museum, which will visit Belarus for the fifth time, will run on Belarusian Railways on 21 June-5 July, BelTA learnedfrom the press service of Belarusian Railways.

In the year marking the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the Victory Train will arrive in Brest on 21 June, on the eve of the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People. In Mogilev, the exhibition will be open on 28 June, the Day of the City’s Liberation from Nazi invaders. The train’s route will conclude in Minsk during the celebrations of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.

The Victory Train is the world’s first interactive exhibition with a maximum effect of presence, dedicated to the heroism and feats of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War. It preserves the memory of those who bravely and steadfastly defended their Motherland and gave us a peaceful sky. Over the 15 days of its stay in Belarus, residents of seven cities, Brest, Baranovichi, Grodno, Gomel, Mogilev, Vitebsk, and Minsk, will be able to visit the exhibition. Its route is designed with regard to significant and commemorative dates of our country.

The Victory Train was created in Russia by the creative workshop Nevsky Batalist together with the media group Krasny Kvadrat, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Russian Railways, and the All-Russian public movement Volunteers of Victory.

In Belarus, the project is implemented by Belarusian Railways together with Russian Railways, with the support of the President Administration and active assistance from the National Volunteer Center of Belarus. It has attracted great interest and received high praise from residents of our country. More than 137,000 people have visited the exhibition during its previous displays.

The exhibition consists of 10 themed carriages, each representing a separate chapter of the wartime chronicle: from the beginning of the war to the Great Victory. Historical reality is recreated using modern technologies: multimedia, lighting, and sound effects.

According to the exhibition viewing procedure, tours are conducted with an audio guide. No more than 12 people may be inside one carriage at the same time. The total duration of the tour is 45 minutes.

Due to the limited capacity of the mobile museum, visits will be organized only for groups of local residents with free invitation tickets distributed by regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee. Anyone interested can take a virtual tour of the museum exhibition on the project’s website.

The Victory Train project is social, both in Russia and in Belarus.
