MINSK, 15 July (BelTA) – The 35th International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will host the Youth Days on 17 and 18 July, BelTA learned from Vladimir Pavlovsky, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union.

“The Youth Days will bring together creative, talented and energetic young people from all regions of Belarus, including Vitebsk, in a series of engaging events. The key activities will be held under the motto ‘Energy of the Young – Energy of the Future.’ It symbolizes the dynamism, initiative and creative potential of the younger generation, its drive for development, innovation, and active participation in the life of society and the state,” said Vladimir Pavlovsky.

The opening ceremony of the Youth Days will take place on 17 July at the memorial complex dedicated to the liberators of Vitebsk, including Soviet soldiers, partisans and underground fighters. The Youth Remembers patriotic action will bring together 400 of the best representatives of Belarus’ youth movement, who will make up the regional delegations.

A traditional dialogue platform titled “Commonwealth Youth Time” will also be held. During the plenary session, representatives of Belarusian youth public associations and the base organizations of CIS member states will present their flagship projects and exchange best practices. The event will be held in a hybrid format: in addition to participants in the studio, an online connection will be arranged with leaders of leading youth organizations from Russia.

The nationwide family marathon “Family of the Winner” will bring together young families from across the country who take pride in their ancestors who liberated Belarus and brought peace and freedom. Participants in the marathon, including regional delegations, will be able to take part in an open dialogue where honored guests and families will share stories about their heroes. A patriotic initiative called the “Book of Family History: Family of the Winner” will also be launched; this symbol of memory will be handed over to the Museum of the Belarusian Youth Movement that will be continuously expanded in the future.

Concurrently, an interactive quest called “Youth of Vitebsk” will be held. Teams from the regional delegations will explore the history of Vitebsk, visit iconic landmarks, test their knowledge of culture, and compete in their awareness of youth trends. The best teams will receive commemorative prizes. The quest will conclude with a cultural program that includes visits to Vitebsk’s leading museums.

“An important part of the program will be the sports segment,” said Vladimir Pavlovsky. “Representatives of the regional delegations will take part in SUP boarding. This is the first time such an activity has been added to the Youth Days program at the Slavianski Bazaar. The party called ‘Generation Pulse’ in the Pobeditelei Park will round off the packed first-day program. Plans include concert performances, a cover band and a DJ set.”

The festival morning of the second youth celebration day will begin with a mass morning workout, followed by a youth platform called “Formula of the Future” at the Vitebsk Central Sports Complex. A platform called “Informal Meeting” will also open, where young people can ask questions of the event’s guests. Thematic areas will be prepared for participants, featuring opinion leaders, well-known personalities and celebrities. A separate area will be dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the CIS.

During breaks, all comers will be able to visit a relaxation zone set up as part of the nationwide project “Youth Pulse,” with opportunities to play board games and take commemorative photos. Delegations from the regions will also visit the festival’s cultural venues. The grand finale of the Youth Days will be a gala concert featuring performances by famous Belarusian pop artists.

The goal of the project is to promote the country’s youth movement by supporting talented and gifted young people, including youth subcultures and creative associations, as well as fostering civic consciousness among the youth. The organizers are the BRSM Youth Union, the Education Ministry, the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, and the Vitebsk Cultural Center (the Directorate of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk). Since 2004, the Youth Day at the arts festival has brought together hundreds of thousands of young people.
