MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ Iryna Shymanovich has advanced to the main draw of the WTA 125 tournament in Ilkley, Great Britain, with a prize pool of $225,000, BelTA has learned.
In the second round of qualifying, Iryna Shymanovich defeated Clervie Ngounoue of the United States (No. 310), 6-3, 6-3.In the opening qualifying match, Iryna Shymanovich claimed a straight-sets victory over Britain’s Savannah Dada-Mascoll, 6-0, 6-4.
In the doubles first round, Iryna Shymanovich and Russia’s Mariia Kozyreva will face the Australian-Ukrainian pairing of Emerson Jones and Veronika Podrez.
The tournament in Ilkley will conclude on 14 June.
